Gramophone magazine reports that an English pianist named Joyce Hatto became an underground sensation in the classical music world. Her recordings, all of which were produced by her husband, William Barrington-Coupe, on his tiny, private Concert Artist record label, seemed to span an almost-impossible repertoire.
