  1. Thanks for this. The translation by Ted Hughes and János Csokits, kindly published by you in an earlier blog entry, pleases and inspires.

    The religious, I assume Roman Catholic, background reminds me of another poet, Gunnar Ekelöf, who had incorporated Near Eastern mysticism in his poetry.

    Ekelöf was also translated by a formidable British poet, none other than W.H. Auden.
